Leila Sadat: "An Analysis of the ILC’s Draft Articles on Crimes Against Humanity."

​Leila Sadat is the Director of the Whitney R. Harris World Law Institute at the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis (Missouri) and Special Advisor on Crimes Against Humanity to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Fatou Bensouda. She is a renowned human rights expert specialising in international criminal law, public international law and foreign affairs. She currently holds the position of James Carr Professor in International Criminal Law at Washington University School of Law. She is a prominent scholar who has published more than 100 books, articles, and essays in leading journals and academic presses throughout the world, and the recipient of several outstanding academic awards. In 2008, Ms Sadat launched the Crimes Against Humanity Initiative, an international effort to study the problem of Crimes Against Humanity and draft a global treaty addressing their punishment and prevention. The draft treaty is currently being debated by the UN International Law Commission and governments around the world.
