Democratic Republic of the Congo
In Focus
Outreach in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is focused on legacy – how to preserve archives and how to continue with some of the projects, now that the cases are in the reparations phase.
Today, we are reaching the affected communities through partners, interactive radio programmes or TV interviews. In the past, most information would find its way to the affected communities through direct face-to-face activities.
In 2022, outreach activities were reduced to a minimum for a number of reasons, including conclusion of the proceedings in the situation-related cases, the scaling down of the country office and the ongoing conflict in Ituri. In 2022, the country office focused on the preservation of archives, legacy issues, consultation with partners about the continuation of certain projects, the impact of outreach activities and occasional activities involving particular stakeholders, with information sessions reaching about 300 women.
