Today, 13 December 2013, the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) dismissed the Prosecutor’s appeal against the decision of Pre-Trial Chamber II rejecting her request to amend the temporal scope the charges against William Samoei Ruto and Joshua Arap Sang.

Today, 3 June 2013, the Trial Chamber V(a) of the International Criminal Court (ICC) decided to set the opening of the trial in the case against William Samoei Ruto and Joshua Arap Sang on 10 September 2013 in order to allow the Defence sufficient time to carry out its preparation.

ICC Presidency decides on new composition of Trial Chamber V

Today, 21 May 2013, the Presidency of the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a decision constituting two Trial Chambers for the two Kenyan cases. The decision of the Presidency was taken to ensure the proper administration of justice, taking into consideration each Judge’s workload.

Ruto and Sang case: Trial Chamber V provisionally postpones trial opening

Today, 6 May 2013, Trial Chamber V of the International Criminal Court (ICC) decided to provisionally vacate the date of the trial’s start in the case of The Prosecutor v. William Samoei Ruto and Joshua Arap Sang and conveyed a public status conference on 14 May 2013. The trial in the case against Mr Ruto and Mr Sang was initially scheduled to start on 28 May. A new date for the trial’s opening will be scheduled after hearing the parties and participants’ observations during the status conference.
