Prof. Mark Drumbl - Case-Law of the Supreme National Tribunal of Poland

Mark Drumbl is the Class of 1975 Alumni Professor at Washington & Lee University School of Law, where he also serves as Director of the Transnational Law Institute. He has held visiting appointments on several law faculties, including Oxford University, Université de Paris II (Panthéon-Assas), University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, University of Ottawa, Monash University, and Trinity College, Dublin. He is spending this semester as a Visiting Scholar at the Free University of Amsterdam. Professor Drumbl's research and teaching interests include public international law, international criminal law, global environmental governance, cosmopolitan theory, and transitional justice. His book, "Atrocity, Punishment, and

International Law" (Cambridge University Press, 2007) has received broad critical acclaim and has won commendations from the International Association of Criminal Law (U.S. national section) and the American Society of International Law. In 2012, he published "Reimagining Child Soldiers in International Law and Policy" (Oxford University Press), which has also been extensively and enthusiastically reviewed. Professor Drumbl has worked in criminal defence in Rwandan national genocide trials, lectures widely, and serves as an expert in U.S. courts; his research also has been cited by a variety of courts. He has degrees in law and political science from McGill, Toronto, and Columbia universities. Current research interests include excavating the under-acknowledged, and diverse, histories of international criminal law.
