Judge Antônio Augusto Cançado Trindade: "The Access of Individuals to International Justice: the Experience of International Human Rights Tribunals"

Judge Cançado Trindade is an Honorary Professor of International Law (Chair in International Tribunals) at Utrecht University, an Emeritus Professor of International Law of the University of Brasília and an Honorary Fellow at the University of Cambridge (Sidney Sussex College). Judge Cançado Trindade has been a Lecturer and a Visiting Professor at many international academic institutions, including the Hague Academy of International Law, the OAS Inter-American Juridical Committee, the International Institute of Human Rights (Strasbourg) and the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights. Judge Cançado Trindade is a former President of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. He holds a PhD in international law from the University of Cambridge (Yorke Prize), an LL.M. in international law from the University of Cambridge and an LL.B. from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Judge Cançado Trindade is the author of over 40 books and around 580 articles and monographs on international law, published in numerous countries. He is a Member of the Academia Brasileira de Letras Jurídicas, of the Curatorium of the Hague Academy of International Law and of the Institute of International Law.
