Case: The Prosecutor v. Germain Katanga et Mathieu Ngudjolo Chui

Please be informed that the trial in the case of The Prosecutor v. Germain Katanga & Mathieu Ngudjolo Chui will resume tomorrow, 26 January, 2010. The hearing before Trial Chamber II will start at 9:00 a.m. (The Hague local time) with witness DRC-OTP-P-0419. (Hearing Schedule). There are no additional protective measures for this witness who will testify in English.

All media wishing to attend the hearings are welcome. No confirmation is required. They are kindly invited to use the public entrance located on Regulusweg and to arrive no later than 8.45 a.m. Press identification will be requested at the entrance.

The media will have access to the public gallery of Courtroom I and to the Media Centre.

Germain Katanga and Mathieu Ngudjolo Chui, Congolese nationals, are charged with three crimes against humanity and seven war crimes allegedly committed in the context of an armed conflict in Ituri which began in Djugu territory and in the town of Mongbwalu, and in particular during the joint attack by combatants allegedly led by Mathieu Ngudjolo Chui and Germain Katanga on Bogoro village on 24 February, 2003, which was part of a widespread attack and was allegedly directed not only against a military camp located in that village, but also against the civilian population of the village.
