Opening of the accreditation period for the trial in the case of The Prosecutor v. Thomas Lubanga Dyilo

Case: The Prosecutor v Thomas Lubanga Dyilo

The accreditation application period for journalists wishing to attend the trial of The Prosecutor v. Thomas Lubanga Dyilo opens today and will close on Thursday 22 January, 15:00 (The Hague local time). The trial will start on Monday, 26 January 2009.

All journalists wishing to cover the trial are requested to submit an official letter of assignment with the ICC accreditation form to the following email address: [email protected] or to by fax to +31 (0)70 515-8567. Please note that journalists with permanent accreditation with the ICC or members of the AJICC do not have to submit the accreditation form or letter, but are kindly requested to confirm via email their attendance at the trial.

All journalists must present a passport or valid ID with a photo at the entrance of the Court.

Courtroom proceedings can be followed on the ICC website at www.icc-cpi.int.

Media Centre

For media representatives wishing to use the Court’s media facilities during the trial, the media centre will open from 08:30 until one hour after the end of all Court proceedings.

The area can sit up to 64 people and includes plasma TV screens; a Wi-Fi internet service; cards (plug + play) for those without Wi-Fi capability in their PC or laptop; 6 computers with internet access; 7 telephones that may be used free of charge for internal calls. For external calls, journalists are advised to purchase 0800 pre-paid phone cards beforehand. Such cards are available at newsagents and train stations. Please note that phone cards cannot be obtained in the vicinity of, or at, the ICC.

Parking facilities

Parking facilities are available for media representatives at the Regulusweg and Wegastraat car-parks. Journalists attending the hearing are kindly invited to use the public entrance located on Regulusweg.
