ICC holds meeting with representatives of Lango Cultural Leaders in northern Uganda

The Ugandan Lango Cultural Foundation has agreed to disseminate information and raise awareness among the Lango population on the mandate and activities of the International Criminal Court.   

The decision was made, following a meeting organised by the Registry, in Lira, Uganda. Participants included the Coordinator of the Foundation, who is also the Prime Minister, the Minister of Culture, Gender and Social Services, the Minister of Education and Sports, and a representative of the Lango Women. 

The Foundation also agreed to establish a committee whose members will be trained to enable them to promote a better understanding of the ICC.
