Ex Parte Hearing to request additional information concerning the
Situation: Democratic Republic of the Congo
On 26 May 2005, Pre-Trial Chamber I received applications for participation of victims in the proceedings concerning the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The applicants requested on an ex parte basis that Pre-Trial Chamber I order the nondisclosure of their identity as well as of any information in their application which could lead to their identification. On 27 May 2005, Pre-Trial Chamber I rendered an ex parte order under regulation 86 (7) of the Regulations of the Court requesting additional information concerning the request for non-disclosure of the identity of the applicants seeking to participate in the proceedings.
On the 28 June 2005, the Pre-Trial Chamber, following the response of the applicants, convened an ex parte hearing on the 12 July 2005 to obtain additional information on the questions asked in its order of 27 May 2005.
On 12 July 2005, the Pre Trial Chamber, at the beginning of the ex parte hearing, rendered an oral decision concerning the notification and filing of confidential documents.”
