Germany joins ICC Junior Professional Officer Programme

On 31 August 2020, Mr Peter Lewis, Registrar of the International Criminal Court (ICC), and H.E. Dirk Brengelmann Ambassador of Germany to The Netherlands, signed an agreement on the participation of Germany in the ICC Junior Professional Officer (JPO) programme.

The programme encourages young professionals, with an academic degree and limited professional experience, to acquire hands-on work experience under the close direction  and supervision of Court officials and senior staff. The JPOs will be sponsored by their respective governments and recruited under a bilateral agreement between a donor country and the Court.
