Assembly of States Parties concludes its eighteenth session
The Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court ("the Assembly") held its eighteenth session from 2 to 6 December 2019 at the World Forum Convention Center in The Hague. The Assembly was attended by States Parties, observer States, invited States, international and regional organizations and representatives of civil society.
The session was chaired by the President of the Assembly, H.E. Mr. O-Gon Kwon.
The Assembly elected six members of the Committee on Budget and Finance for a three-year term and a member to fill a vacancy. The Assembly also elected a member of the Advisory Committee on nominations of judges.
The Assembly held its general debate, which was enriched by the presence of some ministers, international organizations and representatives of civil society. The Assembly held two thematic plenary sessions on cooperation and the review of the Court. Numerous side events, including many organized by civil society, were also held during the session.
The Assembly adopted seven resolutions by consensus on: amendments to article 8 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, cooperation, the nomination and election of judges, the proposed programme budget for 2020, the remuneration of judges, review of the International Criminal Court and the Rome Statute system, and strengthening the International Criminal Court and the Assembly of States Parties.
The Assembly also adopted the 2020 programme budget of the Court totalling €149,205.6 and a staffing level of 973.
The nineteenth session of the Assembly will be held from 7 to 17 December 2020 in New York.

La Asamblea de los Estados Partes en el Estatuto de Roma de la Corte Penal Internacional (en adelante "la Asamblea") celebró su decimoctava sesión del 2 al 6 de diciembre de 2019 en el Centro de Convenciones del Foro Mundial en La Haya. Asistieron a la Asamblea Estados Partes, Estados observadores, Estados invitados, organizaciones internacionales y regionales y representantes de la sociedad civil.
La sesión fue presidida por el Presidente de la Asamblea, Excmo. Sr. O-Gon Kwon.
La Asamblea eligió a seis miembros del Comité de Presupuesto y Finanzas para un período de tres años y un miembro para llenar una vacante. La Asamblea también eligió a un miembro del Comité Asesor sobre nominaciones de jueces.
La Asamblea celebró su debate general, que se enriqueció con la presencia de algunos ministros, organizaciones internacionales y representantes de la sociedad civil. La Asamblea celebró dos sesiones plenarias temáticas sobre cooperación y revisión de la Corte. عقدت جمعية الدول الأطراف في نظام روما الأساسي للمحكمة الجنائية الدولية ("الجمعية") دورتها الثامنة عشرة في الفترة من 2 إلى 6 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2019، في مركز المؤتمرات التابع للمنتدى العالمي في لاهاي. وحضرت الجمعية الدول الأطراف، والدول المراقبة، والدول المدعوة، والمنظمات الدولية والإقليمية، وممثلو المجتمع المدني.
وترأس الدورة رئيس الجمعية، سعادة السفير، السيد أو- غون كوون.
وانتخبت الجمعية ستة أعضاء في لجنة الميزانية والمالية لمدة ثلاث سنوات كما انتخبت عضوا آخرا لملء مقعد شاغر بهذه اللجنة. وانتخبت الجمعية أيضا عضوا في اللجنة الاستشارية المعنية بترشيح القضاة.
وعقدت الجمعية مناقشتها العامة، التي أثريت بحضور بعض الوزراء، والمنظمات الدولية، وممثلي المجتمع المدني. وعقدت الجمعية دورتين عامتين موضوعيتين بشأن التعاون وإعادة النظر في المحكمة. وأجريت أثناء الدورة أحداث جانبية عديدة، منها فعاليات قام بتنظيمها المجتمع المدني.
واعتمدت الجمعية سبعة قرارات بتوافق الآراء بشأن: ادخال تعديلات على المادة 8 من نظام روما الأساسي للمحكمة الجنائية الدولية، والتعاون، وترشيح وانتخاب القضاة، والميزانية البرنامجية المقترحة لعام 2020، وأجور القضاة، واستعراض المحكمة الجنائية الدولية ونظام روما الأساسي، وتعزيز المحكمة الجنائية الدولية وجمعية الدول الأطراف.
واعتمدت الجمعية أيضا الميزانية البرنامجية للمحكمة لعام 2020 التي بلغ مجموعها
205.6 149 ألف يورو كما اعتمدت ملاك الموظفين الذي بلغ مجموعه 973 موظفا.
وستعقد الدورة التاسعة عشرة للجمعية في الفترة من 7 إلى 17 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2020 في نيويورك.
