The Judges’ Legal Officer

The role of the legal officer is important because the number of decisions that judges render in ICC proceedings is rather large compared to other international courts, which deal with interstate matters... So for the judges to be able to carry out their mandate, it's essential that we provide legal research and other legal support to the judges.

My name is David and I work as an assistant legal officer in the ICC's Trial Chamber 10.

My job is to provide legal support to the judges of Trial Chamber 10 in dealing with day-to-day procedural issues pertaining to the Al Hassan trial.
