ICC President visits King Willem-Alexander
On 9 October 2026, the President of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Judge Tomoko Akane, was invited to Palace Huis ten Bosch in The Hague for an audience with His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
As the Host State of the International Criminal Court, the Netherlands plays a particularly important role in the fight against impunity for perpetrators of the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole. The ICC’s permanent premises, located at The Hague, the Netherlands, was officially opened on 19 April 2016 by King Willem-Alexander.
