Mr Olufemi Elias - The Mandate and Working Methods of the OPCW

Mr Olufemi Elias is the Legal Adviser and Director of the Office of the Legal Adviser at the OPCW. Prior to that, he was the Executive Secretary of the World Bank Administrative Tribunal in Washington, D.C., after having served as Senior Legal Officer at the OPCW. He was previously a legal adviser at the United Nations Compensation Commission in Geneva, and he subsequently served as a Special Assistant to the Executive Secretary of the Commission. He taught international law at King's College, London and has held teaching positions in a number of other universities. He is a Visiting Professor in international law at Queen Mary University of London. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar. He holds the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford, a Master of Law in international law from the University of Cambridge and a doctorate in international law from the University of London. The lecture and ensuing discussion are scheduled to last one hour.
