Professor Christopher Greenwood: “State Immunity vis-à-vis the ICC Complementarity Regime”

Christopher Greenwood, CMG, QC is Professor of International Law at the London School of Economics and a Queen’s Counsel practising before the English and international courts. Educated at Wellingborough School and Magdalene College, Cambridge, he was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1978 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1999.  

He was a Fellow of Magdalene College and University Lecturer in Law from 1978 until taking up his position at the London School of Economics in 1996. Prof. Greenwood was appointed a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for services to international law in 2002.

His appearances as counsel include the Pinochet (House of Lords), Lockerbie (ICJ) and Bankovic (European Court of Human Rights) cases. Prof. Greenwood’s publications include Essays on War in International Law (2006) and the International Law Reports.
