Trust Fund for the Development of Interns and Visiting Professionals

The Trust Fund for the Development of Interns and Visiting Professionals was established to fund to the valuable work that participants in the Intern and Visiting Professional Programme (IVPP) make to the ICC. The Trust Fund was initially only open to donations from States Parties, but as of 2019 it also accepts contributions from Court staff and elected officials.

The IVP Programme is of mutual benefit: participants gain transferable experience in a multicultural, international workplace and the ICC benefits from the input of interns and professionals. However it is important that the programme provides opportunity of access for all talented applicants, including those who may not have the financial means to undertake a placement at the Court.

If funding is available the Human Resources section will assess a candidate's eligibility in accordance with the terms of reference of the Trust Fund as agreed by the donors.

In order to be eligible, the applicant must (amongst other criteria) be a national from a country that is a State Party to the Rome Statute and appears on the United Nations Statistic Division's list of developing regions.

If you are not eligible for funding through the Trust, it is recommended that you research possible sponsorship through your university, current workplace, professional organisation/s, or grants offered in your region.

Candidates eligible for funding shall receive detailed information and further instruction after the selection process is finalised. Stipends will always be agreed to at the time of offer. No funding will be agreed to at a later stage.
