Access to justice: watching the ICC Ongwen trial

Thanks to the "Access to Justice" project, a range of equipment – including TV screens, DVD players, public address systems, generators, microphones and digital cameras – was provided to 23 communities from the four locations where the alleged crimes in the Ongwen trial occurred. The handover took place yesterday during an event presided by the Ambassador of Denmark to Uganda, and accompanied by the Paramount Chief of Acholi, the Bishop of Gulu and Chairman of the Gulu local district council.

The "Access to Justice" project was launched on 17 July 2017, as part of the ICC's efforts to respond to the growing information needs of the communities affected by the conflict in northern Uganda.
