DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The International Criminal Court is seeking qualified candidates to fill positions as Finance Assistants. All candidates must pass a written test and an interview. Only those candidates who are successful in the written test will be invited for an interview. Please note that these positions are recruited on a local basis, which means that such positions do not carry any of the benefits and entitlements associated with internationally-recruited staff. Additionally, all costs and arrangements concerning travel to The Hague and accommodation for test and/or interview are to be borne by the candidate.

Within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: (These duties are generic and may not be performed by all Finance Assistants)

- Calculate and raise payment vouchers in SAP relating to travel/non-travel related claims and all staff entitlements. Calculate entitlement according to Financial Rules, supported by required documents provided by claimant.

- Process payment vouchers for invoices from vendors in SAP system.

- Verify charges with Purchase Order and confirmation of services rendered and/or goods delivered; discuss and clarify discrepancies with suppliers and staff members in other sections (when necessary follow up on progress).

- Process petty cash replenishment for Headquarters and Field Offices, and confirm entries for posting in the accounts.

- Prepare monthly payroll calculations.

- Maintain in SAP the master data for relevant area in the Budget & Finance Section. Customize tables to accommodate new information when and if required.

- Ensure payment voucher information is correct (amounts, signatures, bank details etc.) Run payments in SAP, identifying type of payments by currency and payments method. Forward to bank signatories for their approval before forwarding to beneficiary- Disburse Daily Payments

- Upload manually and electronically bank statements on a daily basis for each of the local & international bank accounts of the court. Checking for completeness and ensuring that there are no missing statements or unidentified credits. In this case contacting the bank to identify the source.

- Prepare information reports on payments disbursed as and when required.

- Reconcile all bank accounts of the court and investigating any discrepancies. Monthly reconciliations of the general ledger accounts.

- Reconciliation of vendors' and general ledger accounts

- Extracting various Financial Data from the SAP system or any other sources as required in order to create Financial Reports pertaining to the Budget & Finance Section.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge and skills: Completion of secondary education. Knowledge in one or more key areas such as Treasury Functions (banking) desirable, Disbursements Functions (Account Payable), Payroll Functions and Accounting Functions.

Experienced in the use of microsoft word and excel. Knowledge in SAP would be considered a strong asset. Six years of experience in finance related functions.

KNOWLEDGE OF LANGUAGES
Fluency in either of the working languages of the Court, English or French, is essential. Working knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court would be considered an asset (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish)

The Court reserves the right not to make any appointment to this vacancy, to make an appointment at a lower grade, or to make an appointment with a modified job description.
