Presidency Decisions

The role of the Presidency includes the judicial review of certain decisions of the Registrar, pursuant to the Rules of Procedure and Evidence, the Regulations of the Court and the Regulations of the Registry. The judicial review of decisions of the Registrar by the Presidency concern a range of subject areas including matters related to detention, matters related to the legal assistance to be paid by the Court and matters related to the maintenance of the lists of counsel, assistants to counsel and experts. The Presidency also decides upon requests of judges to be excused from the exercise of a function, pursuant to article 41(1) of the Rome Statute.
