Strategic Plan for Outreach of the International Criminal Court

The Strategic Plan for Outreach was published by the Court in September 2006, on the occasion of the fifth session of the Assembly of States Parties. 

The document, ICC-ASP/5/12, is divided into two main parts:

• The first part describes the general framework within which outreach activities are conducted. Factors influencing the planning and implementation of the Court’s outreach activities are described, including the context in which the Court operates and the particular needs of target groups and the communication tools used. Lastly, it looks at the resources that will be needed to implement the strategy with emphasis on the synergies that can be derived from internal co-ordination or from relationships with external partners. It also explains the organisation of the Outreach Unit as part of the Public Information and Documentation Section.

• The second part of the document describes the medium term implementation of the Strategic Plan for Outreach in the different situations referred to the Court.
