Office of the Prosecutor
Through participating in the Court’s Internship and Visiting Professional Programme the Office of the Prosecutor aims to draw and build upon the knowledge and expertise of both young and experienced professionals by offering Internship and Visiting Professional placements respectively. The Office is committed to the aims of the Programme and endeavours to provide a mutually beneficial placement that provides professional development for the individual participants and raises awareness of and support for the mission of the Office in their wider professional and national communities.
General description of Internship and Visiting Professional placements in the Office of the Prosecutor
The majority of the Internship and Visiting Professional placements offered within the Office are of a legal nature, particularly within the Legal Advisory Section and the Prosecution Division; however, applicants from other disciplines may apply for non-legal placements as detailed within the descriptions for the Immediate Office of the Prosecutor, Investigation Division, Jurisdiction, Complementarity and Co-operation Division, and Services Section.
To the degree that is compatible with the candidates’ academic and/or professional background, Interns and Visiting Professionals can expect to contribute to a range of projects, providing expertise gleaned from their national system as may be appropriate.
In spite of the predominance of substantive work, Interns and Visiting Professionals will be expected to shoulder some of the more routine and administrative tasks, as is required of the regular staff of the Office.
