In order to facilitate the work of journalists covering proceedings before the ICC, the Court has set up a media centre in which you will find:

  • A 131 seat capacity briefing room used for press conferences and briefings. Interpretation cabins are also available. The room is equipped with a 36 output audio, distribution box;

  • A hot-desk area equipped with seven tables which can seat up to 64 people;

  • A wireless internet connection available to those with Wi-Fi. Plug + play cards are also obtainable for those without Wi-Fi installed on their PC or laptop;

  • Seven telephones in the hot-desk area reserved for internal calls to the spokespersons or Public Information Offices of the ICC. These calls are free of charge. For external use, journalists are advised to purchase beforehand, 0800 pre-paid phone cards available at newsagents and train stations. Phone cards cannot be obtained in the vicinity of, or at the ICC.

  • Live audio and video feeds from the courtrooms, including language channels, with a 30-minute deferred video-link accessed from each table in the hot-desk area.

  • Six computers with internet access available to journalists not carrying their own equipment.ICC Media Centre

  • Small lockers for journalists to deposit their personal belongings.

  • Plasma TV screens, allowing journalists to follow proceedings from their work stations.

When there are public hearings, the media centre is open for journalists from 8.30 a.m. until 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday. The centre is closed during the weekends and public holidays unless a media event has been organised by the Court during those periods.
